Shadowvale is the calmest stretch of the late ladder: one new ore and no new rule. Tungsten Ore enters here at full strength and cobalt drops back to a thin seam. An egg here costs 30,000,000,000 coins.
Shadow Essence sits in the Celestial band, above Mythical and outside the seven rarity tiers eggs use. Essence never pays for a door at any depth. Down here it is raw material for the deep shuttle modules.

A quieter world than the one before it
The world before this one is all lightning. This one is all night: Vantyr, Sylvane and the four creatures between them are named for shadow and moonlight.
Tungsten arrives at full strength and cobalt fades, exactly as cobalt arrived and platinum faded one world earlier. Every deep world runs that same pair, so most of late game mining is knowing which world a metal peaks in. Nothing down here drops everywhere.
