Time Heroes

Hatching, pet rarity and hatch rates

Hatching is how you raise your damage per second in Time Heroes. You buy an egg with coins, the egg rolls a pet from the world you are standing in, and the pet's damage adds to your total forever. The table below is the base rate. Luck research and Charged Eggs multiply it, and the first two eggs on a brand new account are a fixed opening pair, an Uncommon and then a Rare, before normal rolls begin.

The short answer to the two questions people ask most. The rarest standard pet is Secret at 0.0025 percent per hatch. The rarest variant on the base table is Astral at 0.05 percent, and Shiny is a separate 0.5 percent mutation, one hatch in 200, that can land on any variant.

Hatch rates by rarity

Seven rarities sit on the standard hatch ladder. These are the published base rates, before any luck research or boost.

Hatch rates by rarity

Common50.0525%
Uncommon34%
Rare12.5%
Epic2.7%
Legendary0.7%
Mythical0.045%
Secret0.0025%

Variants and the Shiny mutation

Rarity is only half of a pet. The second roll decides its form, and the two rolls are independent, so a Legendary Golden is a Legendary that also passed the Golden check.

Shiny is not a sixth form. It is a mutation that rolls separately at 0.5 percent, one hatch in 200, and doubles the pet's damage, and it can appear on any of the forms above.

The two jackpot tiers

Beyond the standard ladder, two rarer tiers can interrupt a normal hatch. Quantum lands at 1 in 150,000 and Origin at 1 in 500,000. Neither is buyable and neither is on the standard table, which is why a player can hatch for weeks without meeting one.

Exclusive eggs run their own table. An Exclusive egg rolls Prime at 3.5 percent and Apex at 0.5 percent, and hatching one is worth 25 experience instead of the usual 5.

Pet size tiers

A fourth roll decides how big a pet arrives, and it is independent of everything above it. Rarity, form and size are separate dice, so any pet from a World 1 Common to a Secret can turn up BIG, GIANT or TITAN. Size is the only one of the three that moves damage and net worth together: a TITAN pet counts eight times over on both.

The chances below are the base rates on every hatch. Size luck raises them, from the size research card, the Titan Attunement node in the Nova tree and the Eggzilla pass, and the lift is capped per rung: at most four times the base chance for BIG and twice the base chance for GIANT and TITAN. Charged Eggs multiply rarity luck only and never touch the size roll.

GIANT1 in 50,000 (0.002%)4x

Egg prices climb five times per world

Eggs are priced against income, not against difficulty. Pet damage grows five times per world and so does the egg price, which keeps one egg worth roughly the same number of seconds of mining no matter how deep you are.

How many pets there are

Ten live worlds hold 70 creatures, seven per world, one for each rarity. Each of those creatures exists in five forms and can carry the Shiny mutation, which gives 700 distinct pet forms you can currently hatch.

A pet's damage is the rarity base multiplied by five for every world past the first, then by its form multiplier, then doubled if it is Shiny. That is why a Common from World 5 outperforms a Legendary from World 1.

Hatching while you are away

The Nest opens at level 30. It is a machine you load with eggs and leave running, so you come back to a full timer of pets rather than an empty screen. One planning note that costs people real fuel: empty the Nest before a Paradox reset, because the reset keeps the Nest's upgrades but wipes what is loaded in it.

What is the rarest pet in Time Heroes?

On the standard hatch table the rarest tier in Time Heroes is Secret at 0.0025 percent per egg. Two rarer tiers exist outside that table: Quantum at 1 in 150,000 and Origin at 1 in 500,000.

How many pets are in Time Heroes?

Time Heroes currently has 70 creatures across its ten live worlds. Each exists in five forms and can carry a Shiny mutation, which comes to 700 hatchable pet forms.

What does Shiny do in Time Heroes?

Shiny is a 0.5 percent mutation in Time Heroes, one hatch in 200, and it doubles a pet's damage per second. It rolls independently of form, so any Basic, Golden, Rainbow or Astral pet can be Shiny.

What is a TITAN pet in Time Heroes?

TITAN is the top rung of the Time Heroes pet size ladder and lands on 1 hatch in 150,000. Size rolls separately from rarity, so a TITAN can be any rarity, and the rung multiplies both the pet's damage and its net worth by eight. BIG is 1 in 10,000 for 2x and GIANT is 1 in 50,000 for 4x.
